Korean language, spoken and written, in Korean, is called "hangul". Being in Korea, I fully expect to be surrounded by it. This includes bus stops, maps, signs, menus, ingredients, heater, TV...EVERYTHING.
However, when I get online, I get to be part of English world again. Except, apparently, on my own blog website!!!
I went to blogger.com and everything came up in Hangul!!! And I can't change it! If it werent for the + symbol to add a post, I'd have had no idea HOW to do it!
So, until I or Duncan figures it out, chances are it will be a bit before I post again.
But for now....
We're happy here and all is going well. We're going into our 2nd day of training tomorrow and we get to teach mock lessons to the other trainees. Fun.
Duncan and I missed Korean food and hospitality and not so much the pollution but trips back home will remedy the annoyance.
Miss you all and keep in touch!
(just so you know how bad it is, I have to "copy" everything I've just written because I'm not sure which button is the "sumit" button. Bloody hell!)

So busy, so tired...
I swear, we have had the busiest 5 days, and its only the beginning....
On Wednesday we drove to Sydney, and took the "scenic" route. No, we didn't get lost, but we try to avoid the Pacific Hwy, because its accident central. We went the back way, and it took us longer than initially anticipated. So, we got there after about an 8 hour drive. We spent the next day doing all the things we needed to do, and then left the next morning at 6am to get back to Armidale.
Upon a arriving in Armi and after a quick Hungry Jack's (aka Burger King) feed, we left for Inverell, which is 1 1/2 away from here. Our friend Andrew was in town and it was our only chance for a visit before we all left the country again. So, after two nights and multiple games of 500, and tooooooo much bubbly, we drove back here to Armi, to pack.
Today, Duncan and his dad are loading the moving van, while I innocently miss out on the packing because of work. Too bad. :)
After work, I get to go home and clean as much as this not so little body will allow, and then go to sleep on my air mattress, in a big empty apartment. The joys of moving.
I probably wont get the chance to post again for a bit, as Duncan's mom doesnt have broadband, and we'll be running around trying to organize until May 3. Departure date!!
Keep in touch!
Will post again after touchdown in the ROK. :)

Facebook!!!
OK, I have to thank my youngest brother for hooking me up...I've gotten on to Facebook and it rocks.
There are so many people that I've thought about over the years but never knew how to contact. It's so nice to be able to talk to old friends and classmates and see what's been happening in their lives. Very refreshing and very nostalgic.
Cheers to anyone who's found me and wondering what I've been up to! Its such a compliment!
No other news to report. What's left to do:
4 full work days
3 day trip to Sydney
dinner with co-workers
pack and move
haircut and eyebrow waxing
last Western-style shopping trip
another 3 days in Sydney
fly to Korea
That's it!
Will post again soon!
Love Chantal

started messing around with facebook
found people i never expected to be in contact with
messed around on facebook

Now comes the time for me to get ready to go home.
Nothing exciting today, just thought I should post since I hadn't for a while!

I can finally sleep!!!
Yes, Duncan is back from Kempsey! It's been a long 5 days without him and I'm never letting him out of my sight again. I haven't had a good night's sleep since he left and I am just so tired now. It will be so nice to have him home! Geeze I missed him!
That's it. Nothing else new to report. I just realized today that as of 5 o'clock tonight, I only have 13 working days left here. My last day is April 24, but due to Rostered Days Off and a heap of public holidays this month, I only have 13 days. How great is that?!
OK, I should get back to work. Have to finish off my 14th last day!
Cheers,
Chantal

May 3rd...and family stuff!
So, Duncan and I have booked our tickets, and we're off on May 3 at 8:40am. We actually booked our flights on Friday, but I was so busy thinking about missing him while he's away that I forgot to mention it earlier! Ooops! Its pretty exciting...the more I think about it, the happier I am to be going back.
Anyhow, aside from news just about me, I'll talk about other stuff for the next couple of minutes.
As I mentioned last week, Mom and Peter have found a house that they're quite keen on. Well, actually, its Peter who found it, since Mom's in Canada and he's in Germany. It sounds perfect for them...in a lovely location and a lot of work needed on it. Duncan and I are pretty eager to visit them next year!
The rest of my family is doing well. My brother Steve is in Dawson Creek still, working for some company there, but I can't remember the name of it. Chae and Scott are living together in Edmonton, going to uni. Chae is kicking ass in her Fine Arts course, and Scott's loving his Japanese studies. Little Katja is 7 1/2 and just got her ears pierced. She feels so grown up!
As for Duncan's family, Jenny and Marty are still in Kempsey. Jenny's still working at Barsby's and Marty's started year 11 and he's having mixed emotions about his classes. Duncan's Dad is out on his property in Nymbodia working on getting his house finished up.
And that's about it for family stuff.
Take care and catch you soon!

Alone for the weekend....and then two more days after....
So, Duncan's gone for the weekend...he's going down to his mom's place to watch his little brother play cricket. I was going to go with him, but in the end, we figured it be better for him to stay a few days more, so he could see some friends before we go, and do some stuff around town.
That leaves me by myself for the weekend. No worries though...I've got Grey's Anatomy downloads to watch! Australia is a bit behind in the episodes, but I'm almost caught up to North America's most recent episode (I didn't have much to do when Duncan was gone last time!).
Anyhow, that's about it for now.
Cheers!
